The Supreme Court of Pakistan has fixed the Ittefaq Sugar Mills case for hearing. The Supreme Court rejected the appeal made by police officer Liaquat Ali.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Ijazul Hassan will hear the case on February 10.
Justice Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi will be part of the bench.
Petitions for setting up sugar mills on cotton cultivation land are under hearing in the Supreme Court.
On the other hand, the Supreme Court upheld the dismissal of the Punjab Police officer for illegally detaining a citizen.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial, heard the appeal against the dismissal of CIA Lahore Police officer Liaquat Ali.
The Chief Justice said that the police officer’s illegal detention of a citizen for 3 days is misconduct, the department conducted an inquiry against the police officer and held him responsible for the misconduct, the court cannot interfere in the police inquiry.
