Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has expressed his desire for Asia Cup matches to be held in Pakistan or Sri Lanka if not in Pakistan.
The Legends Cricket Tournament is currently being held at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha, and Shoaib Akhtar is also participating in the tournament with other Pakistani players.
In an interview, he stated that he wishes for these matches to be held in Pakistan. However, if that is not possible, then he would like to see them take place in Sri Lanka.
During the interview, he also expressed his wish for the finals of both the Asia Cup and World Cup to be held between Pakistan and India. He stated that there is no bigger competition for the ICC and Asian Cricket Council than a match between Pakistan and India.
It is evident that Pakistan is the host of the Asia Cup, but India has refused to play in Pakistan. In response, Pakistan has also announced its refusal to participate in the World Cup being held in India.
