Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue is facing significant challenges in meeting its tax target for March 2026, with concerns emerging over a major shortfall in revenue collection.
According to sources, the FBR had set a monthly tax collection target of Rs1,367 billion for March 2026, but current trends indicate difficulty in achieving this goal.
Reports suggest that the tax machinery may fall short of its target, with an estimated shortfall ranging between Rs150 billion and Rs200 billion.
Experts believe that economic slowdown and various fiscal challenges have increased pressure on tax collection, making it harder to meet the set targets.
