Former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, has announced his resignation from the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
During a press conference with Asad Qaiser, Pervez Khattak announced his decision to step down as the head of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stated that he had been observing the political situation in the country for several days and nothing positive happened on May 9. He further expressed his condemnation of the recent incident and hoped that such an event does not occur again.
Pervez Khattak mentioned that the political environment in the country is deteriorating rapidly, making it difficult to function. He has made the decision to relinquish his party position and will consult with his friends before making any future decisions.
It is worth noting that Pervez Khattak was the provincial president of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It is evident that since the incident on May 9, several leaders and members of PTI have already announced their departure from the party.
Earlier, Asad Umar had also stepped down from the position of Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Pervez Khattak’s name was also included in the 7-member committee formed by Imran Khan’s government for negotiations.
