A tragic traffic accident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s District Kurram claimed seven lives when a passenger vehicle fell into a deep ravine at Gandal while turning a corner. The vehicle was en route from Gandal to Sadda when it lost control and plunged hundreds of feet into the ravine.
As a result of the accident, seven individuals died on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby health center for medical treatment. Initial reports indicate that the incident occurred in Central Kurram, a region known for its difficult terrain and narrow turns, where such accidents are frequent.
Upon receiving information, local police promptly reached the site. Residents from nearby villages also joined the rescue operation, assisting in the evacuation of the injured and the transportation of the deceased.
It is worth noting that just a day earlier, another tragic accident occurred in Dera Ismail Khan’s Tehsil Paharpur on Chashma Road, where five people, including a woman, lost their lives. These back-to-back incidents have raised further concerns about road safety in the province.
